Ko Phayam and little Ko Chang Andaman side.
HELEN TURNER'S TRIP REPORT - MARCH 2012
Returned from short trip to Ko Chang and Ko Phayam.
Stayed at Mr Gao, on Buffalo Bay, having pre-booked. Smart bungalow, 900b, with great double day bed on decked area; pristine bathroom etc.
Nice bungalow at Mr Gao.
Food great, but narrow bit of beach immediately in front; staff
miserable bunch!
Mr Gao has a great restaurant purched just above the beach
Hired a motorbike which was a good way to see all round the island.
Quite a few resorts springing up but also quieter places. Had massages nr Ao
Yai and great food at JJ Seafood.
Stayed for 3 nights & decided to go back to Ko Chang.
Just back from Little Ko Chang; Not a great start as no accommodation on main beach so ended up in
Mini-mart, 200b for basic bungalow. Food and staff were great, but wanted to be
near the beach, so moved after 2 nights to Cashew when a bungalow became free;
250b,quiet, well spaced out basic bungalows, but included bed bugs so moved on.
Eventually found Contex bungalows, in the north west. Loved it; 250b, help
yourself to beer/water and write food ordered down in the book. So relaxed.....
and staff happy to let you in the kitchen to watch them cook and help with
learning Thai.
Borrowed a boat and went fishing till the sunset.
